Itinerary
Your experience begins with pickup from the Port of Bridgetown or your hotel. Board a comfortable tour vehicle and set out to explore the eastern and central regions of the island.
Travel inland into the hills of St. Andrew to Cherry Tree Hill Reserve, located about 850 feet (259 meters) above sea level. From this elevated viewpoint, take in sweeping views across the “Scotland District,” a rugged and picturesque area named for its resemblance to the landscapes of Scotland. As you continue through this scenic region, pass by the historic Morgan Lewis Windmill, one of the last remaining sugar windmills in the Caribbean and an important symbol of Barbados’ plantation past.
Next, descend toward the east coast to visit Bathsheba Beach, famous for its dramatic Atlantic surf and unique rock formations rising from the shoreline. This stop offers time to admire the coastline, take photos, and learn about the legends and natural forces that have shaped this striking part of the island.
Continue to St. John’s Parish Church, a beautifully restored Gothic-style church built in 1846 on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Walk the peaceful grounds and enjoy sweeping coastal views while learning about the church’s role in Barbados’ religious and cultural history. From here, journey through the parish of St. George, passing the historic Gun Hill Signal Station, once part of a network used to warn of approaching ships.
Your tour then heads to the Garrison Historic Area near Bridgetown. Learn about the British military presence in Barbados, the long-standing horse-racing tradition at Garrison Savannah, and the island’s path to independence in 1966. Before returning, enjoy a brief stop along Rihanna Drive to see the outside of the home where the world-famous singer once lived.
After a morning of sightseeing and stories, relax on the return drive back to Bridgetown.
